Best for Low-light and night riding, on hardware terms

Conventional action camera with a 1/1.3-inch sensor, Leica SUMMARIT lens, 8K30 video, a flip touchscreen and a manufacturer-rated 112-minute runtime.

On sensor size and lens specification this is the strongest low-light candidate here. That is a hardware read, not the result of a controlled night ride by us.

The Ace Pro 2 is Insta360's forward-facing camera rather than a 360 unit. It pairs a 1/1.3-inch sensor — the largest of the conventional cameras here — with a Leica SUMMARIT F2.6 lens, shoots up to 8K30, and adds 4K60 Active HDR and 4K120 slow motion. The 2.5-inch screen flips, which makes framing a chin or bar mount much easier before you set off. Insta360 rates the 1,800 mAh battery at about 112 minutes, measured in a lab at 25C recording 4K30 with Active HDR on. A Wind Guard mode targets the wind roar that ruins most motorcycle audio.

The Ace Pro 2 is Insta360's conventional forward-facing action camera rather than a 360 body, so it suits riders who want to aim once, trim the clip and post it the same evening. The main reason to choose it over the X5 or X6 is the simpler workflow plus hardware aimed at two rider problems specifically: the 2.5-inch screen flips so you can frame a chin or bar mount before setting off, and the Wind Guard mode targets wind noise. The trade-off is that it only records where it points — there is no reframing after the ride, and no third-person shot.

Why consider it

  • Best for Low-light and night riding, on hardware terms
  • Largest sensor of the conventional cameras here
  • Flip screen makes mount framing easy before a ride

Quick verdict

Who is the Ace Pro 2 best for?
Riders who want a conventional action camera with a large sensor and a fast edit — mount it, aim it, trim the clip. It is the biggest sensor among the flat cameras in our guide at 1/1.3 inches.
Why choose it over a 360 camera?
No reframing pass and smaller files. A 360 camera captures everything but needs app work before a clip is shareable; the Ace Pro 2 goes straight from card to edit.
What makes it rider-specific?
The flip screen makes framing a chin or tank mount possible before you ride instead of guessing, and Wind Guard is a manufacturer audio mode aimed at the wind roar that spoils most motorcycle footage.
What is the main trade-off?
It records only where it points, so the aim has to be right before you set off, and there is no incident coverage of the side the lens was not facing.
Compare the Ace Pro 2 with GoPro, DJI and 360 camerasOur ranked motorcycle action camera guide sets the Ace Pro 2 against the GoPro HERO13 Black, DJI Osmo Action 5 Pro and Insta360's 360 bodies.

“For street and candid photography, timing is everything. Here, the Ace Pro 2 struggles. The Xplorer Pro Grip shutter triggers on release, not press, of the button - which certainly messed with my flow.”
