How to choose
**Choose GoPro Hero 13 Black** for the mounting ecosystem. The 2-prong folding fingers plus 1/4" thread is the de facto standard, HB-Series swappable lenses are new to this generation, and third-party helmet and chin mounts are built around GoPro geometry first. It is the safe choice if you already own mounts.
**Choose Insta360 Ace Pro 2** for the sensor and the screen. The larger 1/1.3" sensor and the Leica-branded optics are the on-paper advantage in low light, and the flip screen is genuinely easier to aim at a helmet mount. Wind Guard is an audio mode aimed squarely at the problem every rider has.
**Choose Insta360 X5** if you want reframing rather than aiming. A 360 camera records everything and lets you choose the shot afterwards — the reason it suits riding, where you cannot adjust framing mid-corner. The costs are a higher price, a bigger editing workload and a visible stitch line. Note also that 360 cameras mounted on a helmet capture the rider as well as the road.
**Wind noise and storage affect all three.** Every camera here records to microSD only, and at 5.3K or 8K a long ride fills cards quickly. Budget for fast, high-capacity cards.
