Manufacturer price at Insta360 · retailers may differInsta360's 2026 flagship 360 camera: dual 1/1.1-inch sensors, 8K30 360 capture, 20 m waterproofing without a case and 64 GB of built-in storage.
The strongest 360 option on paper for 2026. Worth it only if you will actually do the reframing work in the app.
The X6 is the current top of Insta360's 360 line. It records the whole sphere at 8K30 using dual 1/1.1-inch sensors, so a rider mounts it once and chooses the framing afterwards — forward, rearward, or the virtual third-person view that a selfie stick disappears from. It is rated to 20 metres without a case, takes a 2,600 mAh swappable Xtreme Battery, and carries 64 GB of internal storage (about 47 GB usable) alongside a microSD slot. Mounting is via a 1/4-inch thread plus Insta360's own quick-release.
The Insta360 X6 is the 360 camera to choose if you want to mount once and decide the framing afterwards. It suits riders who film regularly and want forward, rearward and virtual third-person shots from a single pass, plus a record of the vehicle they were not pointing at. The main reason to pick it over the X5 is hardware headroom — dual 1/1.1-inch sensors, 20 metres of waterproofing without a case and 64 GB of internal storage as a card fallback. The trade-off is that every clip needs a reframing pass in the app before it is watchable, and it is the most expensive camera in our action-camera guide.
Why consider it
- Best for Riders who want to capture everything and decide the angle later
- Reframe any angle after the ride
- Records the vehicle you did not look at

Quick verdict
- Who is the X6 best for?
- Riders who want everything captured and are willing to reframe footage afterwards — motovloggers, tourers filming long days, and anyone who wants the whole junction on record rather than only what the lens faced.
- Why choose it over a conventional action camera?
- A flat camera records only where it points and has to be aimed before the ride. The X6 records the full sphere at 8K30, so framing becomes an editing decision instead of a mounting decision.
- Why choose it over the Insta360 X5?
- Larger dual 1/1.1-inch sensors, 20 m waterproofing rather than 15 m, a 2,600 mAh Xtreme Battery and 64 GB of internal storage alongside the microSD slot. The X5 delivers the same 8K30 reframing workflow for less at manufacturer list.
- What is the main trade-off?
- Workflow and price. Full-sphere files are large, every clip needs reframing before sharing, and it is the highest manufacturer list price of the cameras in our guide.
